Tico dc reservations menu9/23/2023 Tico’s fairly large gluten-free menu in addition to my superior dining experience makes the spot a true DC dining destination. Plus, they even have dessert cocktails like the MoreChata with rumchata, agave, coffee liqueur, milk, and cinnamon. Next time, I definitely plan on saving room, as Tico’s gluten-free dessert option features a Caramelized Banana Split with Chocolate Gelato and Peanut Butter Mousse, which has my name written all over it. This time I did not get dessert, which is basically a Cardinal sin in my book, but I was so stuffed I was worried how I would make it out to the car. ![]() The green mole sauce was also very unique, and had great flavor in addition to being visually stunning. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve eaten a dry pork chop, so it was very refreshing taking that juicy first bite. Last came the Smoked Pork Chop with green mole sauce, lollipop kale, baby carrots, and green onions. Tender, shredded duck meat, charred Serrano peppers and mango salsa make for a better taco than anyone could have imagined. If I absolutely had to pick, I’d probably opt for the duck, mainly because the taco is so unique. The gluten-free options here include the Two Texture Beef, Shrimp Salad, Spicy Braised Pork, and Duck. ![]() You might as well order them all because it’s impossible to pick a favorite. Last was the Sweet Corn, because you just can’t go wrong with adding a little jalapeño and smoked bacon to anything. The way Tico was able to manipulate the cabbage was very impressive. I could have honestly eaten an entrée portion of this dish, and I don’t think those words have ever been said about something that states “cabbage” clearly in the title. The Shredded Cabbage Salad is also a signature dish, and is made with spicy salsa verde, green beans, and crushed almonds. Given that each piece is topped with smoky chipotle and fresh cotija cheese, this is not surprising. The Roasted Cauliflower, which is considered to be a bestseller, was easily some of the most flavorful cauliflower I’ve ever eaten. Plus, Tico makes all of their sausage in-house, which is honestly one of my weaknesses in life. The presentation is rather humble, but the flavor was the opposite – profound and bold. My favorites include the Homemade Chorizo, Roasted Cauliflower, Shredded Cabbage Salad, and Sweet Corn. Let’s get to the small plates, because they are the most fun part of the meal and I am obsessed with them. Majority of Tico’s menu are small plates, however, they do have a few items served in the entrée format in addition to a variety of tacos. If you’re looking for a party, you can order all of the cocktails on draft in a pitcher, or get a porrón, which is a drinking game on its own. In addition they have made-to-order mixed drinks, favorites of which include the Caju Caipirinha made with cachaca, cashew, and lime, and the Oaxacan Donkey, which is essentially Tico’s take on a Moscow Mule, but made with smoky mezcal instead of vodka. It’s embarrassing to say, but I have tried every single one of these, and they are all incredible. Tico has three cocktails on draft, including a bright pink Hibiscus Margarita, fruity Sangria, and a sweet and spicy pisco-based drink called Papa Made Bail. One of the most exciting aspects of Tico, besides its food, of course, is its superior beverage selection. I’ve had the pleasure of dining at Tico on multiple occasions, and each has proven to be memorable… The restaurant’s stunning interior, impressive bar program, and food by renowned chef, Michael Schlow, make it one of the hottest spots in the city. Tico was just named one of DC’s Essential 38 Restaurants by Eater, and for good reason.

Betting percentages table9/23/2023 As such, they are the result of the conversion of betting odds into a percentage.Ĭhanging the odds into a percentage, or likelihood of an outcome, is an excellent way of boiling down the odds into a more easily quantifiable outcome. What Are Implied Odds/Implied Probability?įinally, implied odds are simply the implied probability of winning. For example, if you see odds of 6/1, this means you will make a $600 profit after having staked $100. What Are Fractional Odds?įractional odds, widely used in the United Kingdom, show you how much you will profit on your stake should you win. So for instance, if we see the odds of something happening being 3.00 and we bet $100 on that odd then we can expect a $300 payout from this win putting us in a profit of $200. ![]() So the decimal odds indicate the number of winnings for every $1 wagered. The favorites and underdogs of any given matchup can be identified by their numbers alone. What Are Decimal Odds?ĭecimal odds, which are mostly used in Continental Europe, present the ratio of payout to the stake, where the stake itself is also included. On the flip side, the negative odd indicates that on a bet with odds of -130 that you must bet $130 in order to win $100 on a winning bet. This means that if you bet $100 on a match with odds of +130 that when the bet wins you will receive $130. In American Odds you will either see a (+) or a (-). Largest exporter of rice in last 5 years9/23/2023 ![]() Rice is grown in almost every state of the country. As rice is a water intensive crop, it needs a hot and humid climate. The major rice cultivation season in India is the Kharif season, which entails sowing the crop during June-July and harvesting it during November-December. India is also the second largest producer of rice in the world. Any hindrance in Indian rice supply hits almost every importing country due to comparative cost advantage ( Thailand and Vietnam prices are already 30% more expensive) as compared to Indian rice exports. High domestic stocks and low local prices have allowed India to offer rice at deep discounts over the past few years, which have also helped poor nations. India’s rice exports touched a record high of 21.5 MT in 2021, more than the combined shipments of next 4 biggest exporting countries – Thailand, Vietnam, Pakistan and US. As the largest exporter, India has witnessed a CAGR of 14% in quantity exports over 2017-21 and 7% in value terms. In 2021, global rice exports were recorded at US$ 27.13 billion, led by India ( US$ 9.6 billion), Thailand ( US$ 3.3 billion) and Vietnam ( US$ 3 billion). Around 500 million tonnes of rice is produced worldwide, whereas only 10% is traded internationally on an average. In the 2021/22 crop year, about 520 million metric tonnes of rice were consumed worldwide, up from 437.18 million metric tons in the 2008/09 crop year. Global consumption of rice has seen a slight increase over the past several years. The global market for rice is estimated to reach US$ 356 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 2.6% during 2023-30. Rice ( scientifically named Oryza) is a major staple in more than 100 countries and is produced all around the globe. India’s market share is dominant in 3 of the top five rice importers, while it lags in the case of the US (22%) and Philippines (3.8%).Unlike its dominance in overall rice exports, India ranks low in husked (brown) rice, although exports in 2021 grew by a strong 40% YoY to reach US$ 15.3 million.High domestic stocks and low local prices have allowed India to offer rice at deep discounts over the past few years, which have also helped poor nations. In 2021, global rice exports were recorded at US$ 27.13 billion, led by India (US$ 9.6 billion), Thailand (US$ 3.3 billion) and Vietnam (US$ 3 billion). ![]() ![]() In this analysis, TPCI’s research team takes a closer look at the factors driving India’s export growth in rice, challenges as well as the major markets that still have untapped potential. India has maintained its dominance in rice exports this year, as it retains its competitive advantages despite a temporary export ban.

Thinning out basil seedlings9/22/2023 ![]() Mulching is advised as this lessens evaporation. On sandier soils irrigation could be required every second day. It is advisable to spread this over two to three applications per week. Depending on the weather and temperature basil can grow on about 40 mm of irrigation per week. Wet foliage can cause fungus growth, which damages the leaves. Drip is, however, best as it keeps the leaves dry. Stress will bring on flower, which is detrimental to production.īasil can be irrigated by sprinkler or drip. Install moisture readers for constant monitoring. Irrigationīasil is very sensitive to moisture stress so it is very important to keep the soil at the optimum capacity advised for the type of soil. Foliar feeds are also good to promote healthy leaves. Apply the same after each consecutive harvest. About 200 to 300 kg of 3:1:5 when plants are about 20 cm high should be ample until the first harvest. Fertilize according to soil analysis done on the soil prior to planting. FertilizationDo not over fertilize as this will hasten maturity and flowering. Cut the basil 15 cm above the ground allowing enough stem for re-growth. Thereafter the basil can be harvested twice more. Growth PeriodFrom the time the basil seeds are planted to when the first harvest can be done is about ten weeks. Plant the seedlings out when they are about 150 mm tall, just after the last frosts from late August to October. Planting TimeMaking basil seedlings in a greenhouse during July will gain a few weeks on production time. In South Africa, this is late August to October. Sowing TimeSow basil seeds in early to middle spring making sure to miss the last frosts. Some commercial farmers increase plant density to 80 000 to 100 000 plants per hectare. This is between 65 000 and 67 000 basil plants per hectare. SpacingPlants should be spaced 30 cm apart in rows that are 50 cm apart. Direct sow 10 cm in the row to ensure a full stand of basil and thin out later to the desired plant density. The remaining plants will also be able to thrive with access to the resources the weaker plants were using because they are no longer competing for growth requirements ( moisture, nutrients, light, etc) and have the space needed to grow.©Marinda Louw Planting MethodPlanting of basil seedlings and direct seeding is done by hand and mechanically. Defoliating, pruning, inspecting for pests, and pollinating becomes much easier when there’s only one or three plants growing per 圜ube. Instead of Gardyn’s growing unruly, thinning helps keep things organized and clean so it’s easier to maintain your plants. Un-thinned groups may have irregularities with some plants accessing more light, inconsistencies in nutrient uptake, and a lack of air circulation due to crowding which increases the risk of pests or disease. Thinning gives even access to light, nutrients, and can help lower the risk of pests and disease. Then a week later you can thin them out again to all be 12 inches apart. For example, if your plants need to be 12 inches apart, the first time you can thin every 6 inches. ![]() Thinning has some significant benefits for growth rate, plant health, and Gardyn aesthetics. You should only have to thin your seedlings once, but if you have a lot of extra plants growing you can split it into two occasions. Depending on the type of plant, some 圜ubes should be thinned to 1 sprout while others can be left at 3 sprouts. What is Thinning? Thinning is the practice of removing the weakest sprouts while leaving behind the strongest. ![]() There are very few plants that do not require any thinning, and only our Green Beans and Purple Beans require thinning to 2 plants per 圜ube.įollow the table below to find our thinning recommendations for each of your plants: Most fruiting plants and leafy greens should be thinned to one plant per 圜ube, while m ost herbs and bushy plants such as watercress and flowers should be thinned to 3 plants per 圜ube.

Nock on silverback for hunting9/22/2023 ![]() I’m the type of person who loves trying to get the most out of my equipment and I want to be as precise as possible when I release an arrow. Target panic seemed to come and go for me, but the more I practiced the worse it got. Throughout the years I’ve managed to scrape by when it comes to my anticipation. Basically, it is freezing off target or flinching while you are in the act of shooting an arrow. If you need a quick refresher on target panic, I suggest you check out this great article by Trail Kreitzer called Target panic: What to do and how to beat it. I completely broke down to a point I have been never experienced before. My section is at the 3:20 mark in that video. You can see a few clips of this on a goHUNT OFFSEASON video here. I came to full draw, settled in my achor points, and everything went haywire from there. I still remember it to this day, we were on target number four, a relatively easy 55 yard uphill shot. This fact was slammed home to me back in early June when I was shooting with some of the guys at the office at our local archery range. The first step toward fixing something is admitting you have it, right? For starters, I’ve had target panic off and on for a number of years since roughly 2009… actually, that isn’t true as I’ve never really been free from this tight grasp and I should have stated that I have target panic on a daily basis. I have target panic, actually, I have severe target panic. |
